Content and Branding are King at NameSummit 2017

The first ever NameSummit conference was held this week at the Hilton Midtown in “the Big Apple.” It was a great venue for an event and the New York City locale attracted many attendees from the agency and startup world that would not normally attend a Domain Industry event. With that in mind, it is not entirely fair to position NameSummit as a “domain” event. Billed as “A Digital Branding Conference,” the two-day event was packed with back to back content, with informative sessions ranging from domain industry topics to social media and influencer marketing, to valuable tips on how to best leverage YouTube to build your brand, to SEO techniques, a great panel on Blockchain technology, and much more. While there were some familiar faces on stage (including our CMO, Jeff Sass), there were also a lot of great new speakers and panelists including popular YouTube content creator Roberto Blake, founder of Fownders Gerard Adams, and Instagram star and celebrity Jewelry designer Greg Yuna.

The .CLUB team was proud to participate in this new conference. Jeff gave a keynote presentation on Monday called, “Naming Your Startup? Stop Drppng Vwls and Making Sh*t Up!” and he also spoke on Tuesday as part of a new gTLD panel including Matt Bamonte from the Donuts registry, and Victor Pitts from MMX. Here is a video of Jeff’s presentation:

The panel discussion on Tuesday focused on usage examples of businesses using a new domain extension as their primary web address.

During the panel, Jeff focused on the large amount of media impressions and attention many of the great .CLUB businesses are receiving, and how that translates into great PR and marketing exposure for the .CLUB extension. He talked about KitchenCollective.club, who was written up in FORBES, and Gear.club, which topped the iTunes game charts with 1,000,000 downloads in its first 5 days. He also presented a short video (below) highlighting the launch success of the fashion accessory line at www.Chaos.club.

Congrats again to the show’s organizers. We look forward to participating in NameSummit 2018!
