Summer is over and the .CLUB team could not be busier… No, we are not going “back to school” but we are going to conferences and events from coast to coast and around the world. Our September tour started simultaneously in San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale where the .CLUB team were in full force on Saturday September 10.
In San Francisco at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2016 Hackathon we were partnered with Domain.com and represented by our own Mark Ghoriafi and our .CLUB Superhero! It was definitely a super time, especially for the winners of our $5,000 hackathon prize, TheHighFlyers.club.
Meanwhile, back in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the inaugural “Startup Saturday” event, let by Ray Neu, the .CLUB team was front and center on-stage sharing knowledge and experience with the gathered entrepreneurs and business folk as well as a number people from the domain industry who arrived early for The Domain Conference. Both CEO Colin Campbell and CMO Jeff Sass were actively involved in the Startup Saturday agenda and one of the highlights of the day was a panel called “Lessons From The Edge” moderated by Jeff and featuring Colin, Barry Kates of the Innovative Group and Domain Investor/Developer, George Verdugo (Hotels.club., Alligators.com, VisitSpace.com). Ron Jackson raved about the panel in DNJournal.com calling it “one of the best panel discussions I’ve seen at any conference anywhere.”
Next up was The Domain Conference where once again the .CLUB team was ever visible. Our booth was always busy with Ang Daignault, Mark, Howard Bell and Jonathan Frost holding court, while Colin, Jeff and COO Michele Van Tilborg were all up on stage over the course of the conference. Certainly, one of the highlights of The Domain Conference was being awarded the “Registry of the Year” honor for the second year in a row. We are very grateful for the support of the industry and everyone on our team is proud to accept the award.
From The Domain Conference we were off to DMexco in Cologne, Germany. The largest digital advertising and media show in Europe with over 50,000 attendees this year. Jeff was a frequent speaker in the Sedo booth, along with representatives from other registries including Radix, .tube and .shop. The .CLUB presence at DMexco was enhanced by a visit from our Chinese mascot, Hou Mi Mi, who was very well received in Germany, and the subject of countless selfies and photographs.
In the midst of all this, we had a successful auction on Sedo, selling $75,000 in domains, including some great brandable names such as i.club, dj.club, ny.club and more.
Next up is DomainFest Asia which kicks off in Hong Kong on Monday, September 19 where Hou Mi Mi will be joined by Jeff and Michele and Lin Liu.
If anyone doubts that .CLUB is a truly GLOBAL brand, just take a look at our September schedule!
