.CLUB’s July Asia Tour: GDS in Xiamen and RISE in Hong Kong

The domain industry runs 24/7, 365 and spans the globe. That’s part of the fun, right? So, while many were enjoying an extended July 4th week of fun in the sun and barbecues, the .CLUB team hit the road hard and traveled once again to our home away from home, China! Our first stop was the beautiful city of Xiamen for the Global Domain Summit (GDS). Xiamen, with its palm trees and beautiful waterfront, reminds us a little of our home office town of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and “Domain Island,” as it is called, is always one of our favorite places to visit.

Our CMO, Jeff Sass was joined in Xiamen by the head of our Beijing office, Abby Zhang, and of course, our celebrity mascot, Hou Mi Mi. Here’s a short video with some highlights from GDS:

After a successful GDS event, we took the short trip over to Hong Kong for the RISE Conference, a great event attracting startups and entrepreneurs from Asia and beyond. In addition to .CLUB, the domain industry was represented at RISE by Sedo, PIR, Gandi, and the RADIX team who supported a number of RISE participants through their Startup League program.

We enjoyed some of the great speakers at RISE, including Gary Vaynerchuk and GoDaddy CEO, Blake Irving. We were also pleased to see a number of great startups using a .CLUB name on display at RISE, including Traffic.club, Paybook.club and Mask.club. Here’s a short video with some highlights from RISE:

All in all, it was a great and productive trip to Asia. We look forward to returning soon. After all, #ClubIsEverywhere!
