Private Clubs Get It: .CLUB at the CMAA Expo

CMAA Club Montage

The Club Manager’s Association of America (CMAA) is “…the professional Association for managers of membership clubs. With close to 6,500 members across all classifications, our manager members run more than 2,500 country, golf, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs.”  The annual CMAA Club Business Expo was held on Friday and Saturday in Orlando, Florida, and it was a great way for the .CLUB team to meet and greet some of the private club industry’s most successful and influential leaders.

As the Registry for the .CLUB domain name extension, it was great to have a chance to speak directly with many of the clubs that have already pre-registered for their .CLUB names, and to introduce .CLUB to many clubs who are just learning about the opportunity to get a domain name that is perfect for clubs.  Many of these clubs have settled for long and cumbersome .com names, or .net and .org names and abbreviations ending in “CC” or “GC” that don’t really express their brand.  They were excited to learn that they could now get a domain name that is short, memorable, and clearly identifies them as a club.  Even clubs that were quite happy with their primary domain name were very interested in obtaining a .CLUB name for their private member portals or simply to make sure that they control the .CLUB name for their club’s brand.

The private club industry is just one of the many global markets that the .CLUB domain extension appeals to, and the .CLUB team continues to support our registrar partners by reaching out to the many verticals worldwide where is a logical, memorable and highly marketable domain name.

Special thanks to the CMAA and their members for such a warm welcome for .CLUB at our first CMAA event.
